Without change, the bulbs would never bloom into fruit, flowers, and veggies.
Without change, those cute kids would never have the weddings that we love so much—or produce other cute kids to be loved.
Without change, we would actually wither and fade into nothingness much sooner than our allotted three score and ten years. I embrace change! How about you?
Of course, all change is not in our best interest or even within our desires. Most importantly all change is not within God's plan. You could write your own story about that one!
On the brighter side, change brings chuckles. Ed and I were sitting on our front porch when our neighbors came into view, walking their new pup—an introduction to the neighborhood. We called our greetings as they passed into view and complimented the adorable ball of gray fur in tow on a leash. We snickered to each other that the pup—who had walked about a fourth of a city block—began balking. Finally, he laid flat out on his tummy. The walk was over! We laughed with our neighbors who picked him up and carried the little four-footer for the rest of their exercise.
Wouldn't it be wonderful if we all agreed at the same time when we'd had enough and had someone available—and willing—to carry us the rest of the way. But humans were just not programmed that way. So we lean on one another and help each other along—that's the heavenly plan.
But humans sometimes balk and refuse to move. Sometimes they lie down on the job, hoping to be carried along. Are you having that kind of experience in your Sabbath School? If you aren't and you haven't, some day you will. Be prepared. The LEAD Sabbath School resource is a means of prevention and restoration, a gentle resource for making changes of the best kind. So be sure to share the news about LEAD with your ministry partners. The change could be for them like the blooming of flowers and veggies, a change of the good kind.
I plan to check back in with you in August.
Maranatha!
